Latest RPT news & information

This first update recognises the selfless actions of two people who have gone ahead and done something tangible, rather than donating funds.

The actions taken in both examples take a lot of commitment, time and personal resources. We understand that not everyone has this combination but anything you contribute will be used to help us support people like Rupert and James.

New Bauerfeind Braces In Stock

As promised in our last update we now have a wide range of Bauerfiend Braces available for donation. Please check out our Medical Products tab to see which models and sizes are in stock

New Trustee On Our Board

On 16.07.2026 we were visited by Mrs Fatima Perriman at the Joint Operations’ Royal Wootton Bassett offices.

Fatima worked as the Crewe YMCA Finance Manager for over 18 years and established her own charity (Charities Commission Number 1187253 on 30.05.2019) in her native Ghana called “Creating New Futures”.

We are looking at ways of helping her to provide donated medical devices locally and she has kindly agreed to become an RPT Trustee in the near future to ensure that we always have a minimum of 4 Trustees on our board

Latest Donations to Kurdistan:
further cooperation between the RPT and NGMV Medical Charity and Life Academy.

In June 2026, the RPT was asked to send its entire current stock of donated medical devices, totalling £30,961.29 in value, to Kurdistan. This exercise was co-ordinated in conjunction with Prof. Deiary Kader and his charity NGMV who had already received a large and very welcomed quantity of donated wound care product back in April 2024.

Prof Kader and his staff visited Joint Operations for training on the ranges supplied as well as providing some background on the work of the charitable medical and surgical organisations he works with all over the world to the Royal Wootton Bassett based staff. Pictured is Prof Kader with his son Dean and Richard Forster, founder and major owner of Joint Operations, with his son Max, and an example of the extremely complicated surgery carried out by Prof Kader in very challenging circumstances.

Whilst we were delighted to be able to provide him and his patients with more donated products, we are now having to rebuild our stocks again from scratch as we currently have nothing left to supply unless specifically ordered as an individual request. Watch this space!

Harold’s Story:
Our Journey Through Spinal Injury and the Road to Recovery

At the company’s Christmas Party in December 2024 my parents kindly looked after Harold who is a 4-year-old Dachshund who I have had since he was 16 weeks old. They were a little worried as he was unusually quiet and sleepy and when I got home Harold didn’t jump up to greet me as he normally would.

We rushed him to the emergency vet as Harold was clearly in a lot of pain, and they had to administer morphine just to be able to examine him. Even then, they couldn’t give us a clear diagnosis. They advised us to take him home and monitor him closely.

Donations to Ukraine

We have donated a very large proportion of our AOne Wound Care product range stocks to Ukraine throughout 2024 with a total of 11 separate shipments organised with the assistance of the following organisations:

  • Stand For Ukraine (Brighton & Hove)
  • Help Ukraine BAMK UK (Milton Keynes)
  • Swindon Humanitarian Aid Partnership (SHAP)
  • Dr Bodgan Darchyn, Lviv Regional Hospitals

We thank our very own Finance Manager, Iryada Ashmore, for liaising with her contacts over there to send these urgently required items totalling a very significant amount which modesty precludes us from specifying.

We are confident that this contribution will be appropriately utilised for both civilian and military casualties incurred during the Ukraine’s heroic struggle to maintain its independence.

Rescue cat from Kuwait

Our Joint Operations colleague, Eric Murray’s friend, Victoria Williams, who teaches in Kuwait, sent him a photo of an abandoned eight-week-old kitten on 12th January 2024. She had already rescued several other cats from various countries in the Middle East where she had taught, but her parents’ house was now at full capacity. Knowing that Eric was planning to get a rescue cat this year, she reached out to him.

They set up a crowdfunding page to help cover the roughly £1000 costs involved in bringing the kitten to the UK. With the money raised, they were able to cover the necessary blood tests, vet checks, and chipping in Kuwait, as well as the transportation costs by air.

Below are some recent photos of Remus Achilles McFloofyFace Murray, a Bombay-Maine Coon mix, enjoying his new home with his clearly besotted daddy.

Saving Wildcats

June 2023. We are pleased to be recognised for our contribution to the Saving Wildcats organisation to help them with the first release of wildcats in Britain, in the Cairngorms National Park, and below is an extract from an email sent by Helen Senn – the RZSS Head of Conservation and Science Programme

“Good afternoon Joseph,

I can’t believe I’m really telling you this, but the first-ever release of wildcats in Britain has just taken place! As you may have seen announced last week, young wildcats from the Saving Wildcats conservation breeding for release centre are now taking their first steps into the wilds of the Cairngorms National Park.

I want to thank you for everything you have done to help make this possible and celebrate this very special moment with this certificate.

I’m sure you are as thrilled as I am to reach this wonderful milestone on the wildcats’ journey into the wild. By the end of this summer we hope to have released over twenty wildcats across the Cairngorms.

A project on the scale of Saving Wildcats has never been attempted before and we know life in the wild will be very challenging. Our team are learning so much about wildcats at every stage, and everything we discover will help to improve the success of the release programme going forward.

Saving Wildcats has only reached this point thanks to support from many people like you who are helping give wildcats a future through this project.

Thank you again for all your incredible support. Together we’re Saving Wildcats!

Glove Project

In March 2023 Joint Operations contributed a wide range of wound care products along with a highly specialised Newclip High Tibial Osteotomy plate and assorted screws with an estimated value of £6,829.10 to the GLOVE project.

Gambia Medical UK Partnership

Gambia Medical UK Partnership

Rupert Barden is the reason why we were able to help Gam Med improve the lives of several patients in Gambia and the results can be seen by visiting the following link: Gam Med UK Partnership Joint Operations – and if you have the stomach for it – Instagram – as this shows some of the life-changing procedures carried out locally.

It’s noticeable that Rupert takes a back seat to all the wonderful clinicians, support staff and local people Gam Med have helped over the years. However, he’s our hero for helping make this happen and we look forward to providing more updates in the future on the work being done by this inspirational team

Rescue dogs from Romania

Rescue dogs from Romania

James Donald and his lovely wife Kerry have covered the costs involved in getting three rescue dogs; two from Romania (Fred, 2 and Poppy, 7) and one from Ireland (Harry, 16) from two different animal charities.

Check out this one-minute video which is simultaneously heart-rending and heart-warming (note the wonderful narration by one of our top actors, but no prizes for guessing who it is) which shows the long and arduous journey taken from Romania to this country.

Examples of the charitable work that has already been carried out are as follows:
